The step well is located 18 kilometers north of Ahmedabad in the Gandhinagar district. The main corridor has 4 pavilions and the well is 5 stories deep, each decorated with exquisite stone carvings. Built in 1498 during the reign of Queen Rudabai, the well once provided water and cool relief to weary travelers and pilgrims along the roads outside of Ahmedabad.
